About us
Trekking Aymara Indigenous Outdoor
Trekking Aymara Indigenous Outdoor is a local Aymara tour operator based in the region of Arica and Parinacota, northern Chile. We specialize in outdoor adventures infused with the rich identity of the Aymara people, offering transformative experiences that go beyond traditional tourism.
The breathtaking beauty of the Andean highlands surrounds every journey—a majestic landscape where peace and serenity reign. Travelers uncover hidden Andean treasures: the living heritage of ancestral communities, native wildlife, and sacred flora used in ceremonial and spiritual traditions. This is one of the most fascinating territories on Earth, waiting to be explored through the eyes of its people.
We offer a wide range of experiences, including medium and high mountain excursions, hiking and trekking, community-based tourism, and immersive Aymara cultural experiences, along with scenic journeys and unique travel programs. Our services are designed for all who seek meaningful encounters with Andean ecosystems and local communities, for people passionate about outdoor life, nature connection, and the living culture of Indigenous peoples.
Safety and quality are at the heart of our operations. Our guides are continuously trained and certified in trekking, mountain guiding, and first aid (WFR – WAFA certified). We also provide Leave No Trace training and specialized mountain programs that meet international standards, ensuring a responsible, safe, and rewarding experience.
Our most popular and successful adventures include the UNESCO World Heritage Qhapaq Ñan Trek, the Sacred Lagoons Trek, mountain trekking to Suriplaza, Choquelimpie, Huane Huane, and Chiguana, ascents of Taapaca, Guallatire, and Parinacota volcanoes, Community and Aymara Cultural Tourism, and the Altiplano Tour from Arica to Iquique.
Trekking Aymara provides high-end specialized mountain equipment, allowing travelers to experience nature at the highest level of comfort, safety, and enjoyment. We bring international expertise from outdoor adventures in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, as well as the Black Forest in southern Germany, and have participated in global forums such as the International Indigenous Tourism Conference in Montreal (2025) and the 3rd World Summit on Community Tourism in Taiwan (2024).
Currently, Trekking Aymara has been selected to participate in the ATTA Pre-Summit Adventures, part of the Adventure Travel World Summit in October 2025, highlighting our commitment to excellence in adventure tourism.
